Sound diffusion panels in the new studio! I made them using the same Owens Corning 703 material that professionally made panels use, like Ready Acoustics' Chameleon Bass Traps, or ready-made panels from ATS Acoustics, but mine aesthetically match the studio and are much cheaper to build!

  • actually, these absorb and diffuse sound, as well as help with disturbing the neighbors. although the main function is to absorb bass, strategically placing the panels throughout the room diffuses sound. diffusing the sound quiets the room, and to a certain degree, helps with what the neighbors hear. how the room is built (in this case, floating the walls), materials (density and reflection), and size / shape all play off of each other.

  • this is absorbsion not diffusion

  • @FiSTFigHT09 Hi, as nobody replied to you. No this is not a soundproofing job, this is for acoustic treatment, that means making the sound accurate in the studio, it wont soundproof the room, so it wont help with regards disturbing neighbours etc, soundproofing and acoustics and different things..

  • Good trick!

  • Did this happen to sound proof the room?

  • Hey there, what kind of cloth did you use on your panels? Looks sharp... I am looking to do a set of my own. Any tips? :)
