Visit http://www.merlehazard.com Merle Hazard, country singer, meets famed economist Arthur Laffer. Laffer gives Merle the idea for a song, "In the Hamptons." "In the Hamptons" is a parody of "In the Ghetto," made famous by Elvis Presley and written by Mac Davis.

  • Arthur Laffer was the guy who in 2006 ridiculed Peter Schiff for suggesting there was a recession just around the corner ! He then welched on his bet with Schiff. Search for videos "Peter Schiff was right".

  • Well, if a government agency does too good of a job, there won't be as much of a problem, so they won't be as useful, so they might get a funding cut. So it's in their best interest to prolong and exacerbate the problem to insure their job security, and maybe even a raise.
