The King Baboon is the second largest tarantula on the African continent. These animals should, however, be more accurately named the Queen Baboon, because the 8-inch or greater adults are all female. Males of this species are small in comparison, reaching no more than a 5-inch leg span. When provoked, King Baboons will rear-up on their pencil thick back legs and hiss loudly.

  • Please stop poking and proding your spider. Honestly I would rather watch a video of it just standing there not doing anything than one of you tormenting it. I feel you should know better, but maybe you think people will like you treating it like this (very wrong of you).

  • @MrBoggy100 cool story bro

  • She awesome. ur a bully, stop picking on her!!!

  • 2:20...damn, he didnt get bit

  • dam i might buy this but it takes 10 yrs to become full grown and burrows too much

  • god some people take proding a tarantula too seriously (not on about the owner, its the trolls) like come on, you think about it, these spiders probably get worse in the wild, atleast they can get fed whenever they want, dont have rodents constantly in there burrow. tbh spiders are probably more stressed in the wild than in captivity, so before you have a go at this guy for proding a tarantula, think that there probably kept better with him than most other people.

  • Why didn't you let her sleep? You could tell she wanted to sleep.

  • @MrBoggy100 first of all he is doing everything correct. He probably knows more than you because the king baboon is pretty much only owned by expierienced keepers. The way to do it is to softly brush the back of the tarantula.

  • @mjellyg lol thats it?thats no prob then :P

  • @MrBoggy100 King Baboons are diggers. Its not bad to occasionally pull a T out of its burrow to show off. If you constantly do it then your causing it harm. People should see that this T especially, need a little push to be shown off. One of the things that attract people to the species is the hissing. This was probably a one time thing. If he was holding it no one would have cared but you can't hold this species. Give the dude some slack. Besides T's don't even have memory like we do.

  • right, throw the owner into a cage, poke it with a stick, i'd see how you react to that!
