I was wrong: The Golf MK1 was in Mexico the Caribe and after launching Golf Mk2, the name Caribe was never used and the Caribe in Mexico received the name from Europe and bla bla: "GOLF". In Fall 2009 the new Golf Mk6 will be released in the US/Canada as "Golf" dropping the name: "Rabbit". (Infos: Wikipedia article about the Golf). So: till fall 2009: Rabbit=Golf, upcoming fall 2009: All new VW Golfs and VW Rabbits of this world are "VW Golfs". My apologies.
