I went down to Florida to help my Mom while my Dad was having open heart surgery, however as I went through More Haven, Florida I noticed a Mexican flag flying over a Mexican restaurant without an American Flag flying over it. I knew this to be wrong so I immediatly turned around and asked to see the proprieter to let her know that she was in violation of a federal law that states no foriegn flag or U.N. flag is to be flown over U.S. territories without an American Flag over it. She was obstinent with me at best.I then asked her if I went to Mexico and started flying an American flag what would she do? She stated, she would call the police and have me arrested. I then informed her that this is what I would do if she did not take the flag down or add the American Flag above her flag, she refused. I went to the Sheriff's office and they refused to do anything unless I could show them the law. I found the Federal Statute and brought it back to More Haven's Sheriff's office and only then did they take it down. I was really saddened that it took a Yankee with more Rebel in my little pinky than they had in their whole being, to show them how things are supposed to be done. End result the flag came down. I did not do this for notoriety, I did this for my Dad (World War ll Hero), for my Uncle's and especially for my Uncle Bo who was killed in Action and all the other's who gave the ultimate sacrifie defending this Greatest Nation ever and for my Brother (U.S. Air Force Hero, Retired) who all came under enemy fire during their service to their country, and all the other Hero's who served their country Honorably and Faithfully. My Dad has told me that all it takes is for a few good men to sit idly by and do nothing and we will no longer be the Greatest Nation. Having this flag fly over my country illegally boiled my blood to an extent I cannot put into words. And then to have an organization such as the Sheriff's Department whom I always thought was a Patriotic organization protect the Mexican flag over their own American Flag just added insult to injury, I was absolutely appalled with them. PLEASE DON'T sit idly by and do nothing because you might be embarrased to do something that is the right thing to do. The next time you see a Service member in uniform please go up to him/her and shake their hand and say Thank You. I have and always do. I protected them when they were babies and now they are protecting me.

I believe it's a horrible sign of disrespect to fly the Mexican flag higher than the U.S. flag..We are not in Mexico we are in The U.S...I'm Mexican by the way.

So many trolls that have absolutely no pride in America, one of the best countries in the world. ( I have to say "one of the best" simply because I'm Canadian, haha"). It's funny how every other country has the right to arrest or prosecute those who offend it's culture, but when someone offends America, some people think, for some strage reason, it should be allowed!? @Thatkeanman; You got that right. So many trolls. I did post some that think differently than I, however some are not Patriots to their own country. Some come here and want to trash our country because there country is trashed. All some know is trash and so they live like trash. They don't have the guts to take their own country back. I have toured your country (Canada) and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful countries I have been in. And the people are very nice. Thank you again.

Actually, a foreign flag can fly in the U.S. as long as the U.S. flag is flying beside it with the U.S. flag holding the position of honor and the foreign flag must be of equal or small size to the U.S.

You are 100% correct, however this mexican flag had no American flag beside it which made it illegal to fly.

The longer you can keep the cops here, and the larger spectacle you create, the worse it is for the Mexican's business. Call me racist if you like, but I think it's reasonable to assume someone flying a Mexican flag is a Mexican.
