This video is a classicly bad 'see-a-train-jump-out-of-the-car-in-30-seconds-without-enough-time-to-get-hand-steady'. Therefore the terribleness of it must be partially excused. However I still find it very interesting that the mainline just sort of swings into the middle of a major town's CBD. BTW does the Tilt train use this track? In case you are blind or something, it is handheld. I was rather excited as you can tell. It has all been said *sigh*. Enjoy or something.

  • Hey train, you are not a car, get off the road. You don't even have tires.

  • Rockhampton's main station used to be at Stanley Street until 1973. This was the eastern railhead of the Central Railway to Longreach and Winton. The Denison Street line was built to connect Rockhampton to the North Rockhampton system at what became Glenmore Junction, and subsequently became part of the North Coast Line. Deviating the line away from Denison Street would probably involve moving the passenger terminal to Port Curtis Junction, and a new crossing of the Fitzroy River.

  • Yes it does - there is only one line, and thats it!

  • i think it kinda obvious but the electric tilt train doesn't use that line

  • Well considering that that is the only railway through rockhampton, yes the Tilt train (diesel) uses that track.
