Excessive noise at the Toronto Island Airport

Every time that a Q-400 lands or takes off from the Toronto Island Airport it breeches the Tripartite Agreement that governs the operation of of the Airport

First I DID NOT change anything about the sound. It is exactly as my video camera captured it. The 11,410 dollars is the fine that is to be accessed for each time the sound limits are violated. Every time the Q-400 lands or takes off from the Toronto Island Airport it violates the sound limits specified in the Tripatite Agreement

ok, Im a pilot that flies out of the island although i do not fly the Q400's i am around them all day and that is not the sound they make even while standing next to them, the sound in the video is of some other type most likely a jet aircraft, although the q400's do have jet engines in them the fact hat they are turbo prop makes them alot quieter. And regarding "Prairie's" comment why would the allowed Db level be higher on landing than on take off?? on take off the plane requires 100% power.

The allowable limits are not mine they are stated in the Tripartite Agreement. This is the agreement that allows the lease for the airport

The Tripartite Agreement that governs the operation of the airport limits the noise to 92.0 EPNdb on landing and 83.5 EPNdB on take off. The ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) is the organization listed in the Tripartite Agreement that determines the noise levels. The levels listed in ICAO Annex 16 for the Q-402 are 94.9 EPNdB on landing and 84.1 EPNdb on take off. There should be a fine of $11,410 for each breach of the Tripartite agreement.

What a fucking load of crap! I've sat across from this airport on the lakeshore watching Porter Airlines Q400s take off AND land and they do not, repeat, DO NOT make that much noise. You've obviously recorded another aircraft somewhere else that is much noisier and placed that recording over this video to make your pathetic case for closing down the airport and the fantastic airline that operates out of it. You shouldn't even be complaining. The airport was built before the was even one condominion in downtown. If the tripartie agreement was in place when jazz flew there, they would be charged with their crappy airplanes.

Carlitossqban raised some good points. That sound certainly is not generated by turbo-prop plane, rather it's by a jet. So the uploader masked the original sound and put something else in place (I assume the sound is taken at Pearson)

Without sources, I can hardly believe in what you claims are when you purposely put in nosier background than what it is.

dude you recorded the sound and changed it, and it doesn't cost 11,410 dollars to fly them I think you mean 1,410 dollars and thats in freedom, porters flights usually cost 5-700 dollars, 11 thousand is the cost to fly from YYZ-HKG on air Canada nonstop.
