Follow Kathryn through an overview of this beautiful master bedroom design project recently completed by Design Inside. Some of the highlights from this design project include:
- New soffits over the bed with recessed can lights which help create an intimate space over the bed.
- An Upholstered headboard was added with touch-latch doors that hide an additional wall of storage.
- Built-in nightstands were added that are 24" deep, but only have 12" exposed; offering plenty of drawer storage without taking up a large amount of floor space.
- A custom platform bed was created with an inset base that gives the bed a solid presence in the room without feeling overbearing.
- A wardrobe was created along the entire wall of the bedroom offering plenty of closet and drawer storage for the homeowners clothing and personal items.
- Back-painted glass was added to a few of the full-height doors to add contrast to the space.
- Commercial grade roller shades were added to allow the home owner to completely black out the window, or fully open it to showcase the beautiful views of the Chicago skyline.
