  • DId u get a new EDC bag? If you did what was it and did u do a review on it.

  • I have tried 3 or 4 since this one died.. noe have come close to it for usefulness ..

Some reviews have been posted and more will come, I'm still searching for a replacement

  • Use a fenix or nitecore led flashlight instead of quarters. Dual purpose to boot

  • Another good idea, thanks.. the light would be lighter weight too

  • no problem, thanks for the feedback we welcome any (polite) opposing views

You have me thinking now, so I'll test out my theroy again

  • Sorry for the third response, but had a last minute thought. You would actually be better with a roll of quarters, if you're interested. The roll of quarters in your hand would support the fingers, add force to the punch, and protect against any serious damage to the fingers.

  • Which is also why most self-defense classes for civilians advocate striking with a palm thrust, the force gets spread out through an area with padding, instead of pure bone. I understand that if you had to save your life, broken bones will happen, but I don't see any reason to encourage them.

  • Most peoples hands aren't conditioned to punch with a fist, as such, like overdark says, most people, if hitting another person in the head or torso, will break fingers. Adding a carabiner won't help that, it will actually put all the force of the punch back in the center of the bone, not even on a joint. If you look at a pair of brass knuckles, they have a support area behind the knuckles that directs the force to the palm, which is why they work, a carabiner dosen't.

  • I wouldn't want to use it as an improvised fist-load. He's right, hitting a solid target would hurt the guy getting punched. Maybe break a jawbone. But it will also hurt your fingers. It's hitting your fingers with just as much force and there's no grooves for your knuckles / fingers to sit in, spaced apart.

It's not ergonomic, but defense isn't always ergonomic if you need to resort to a buckle.

  • really? I have punch my heavy bag with them many times with no problems

Why do you think it would break any fingers?
