you say remove the baseboards,but if they're fixed to a lath and plaster wall you'l end up taking half the wall with you..!!!!

Maybe you should check out his second video. How to install quarter round. So looks like taking the baseboard off would be a waste of time if you are installing quarter round. To all you experts out there.

nice if you like gaps between the lam and the base try taking off the base first install the lam then re install the base.....otherwise you void any warranty. your welcome no more half ass floor-laying please it makes us pros look bad with improper tutorials.

how was the second piece installed without angling the length to engage the lock? Was the lock removed from the groove with a chisel to install that piece? Doesn't it then need to be glued? It appears he just laid it flat and pulled it in.

@dadswizz wtf are you talking about? ive layed laminate with the skirting on many times. all you have to do is leave a 10mm gap and beed it once its all layed.

@WubProductions take a square tool, chalkline off one wall. cut 1st row boards in half. Measure each board seperatly. this will make up the differnence without much notice.

never install laminate flooring without first removing the skirting board as the laminate expands and will bulge in the middle (you all seen bulging floors !) the skirting boards sit on top of the laminate flooring and there is no need for edging strips that are unsightly and are a sign that it has been done by someone who could not do it properly or could not be bothered to do it properly. it is a good excuse to replace old skirting at the same time if you want nice new unpainted ones as well
