A Serious Matter - Alpha Kappa Alpha and the Idolatry of Sorority Membership - Intro

This is an intro video which will begin a series about my experiences during my time as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I will hold nothing back, and I will try to be as honest as I can for the sake of those who are members and others who are listening to the glory of God.

While I am no longer a member, (I was expelled this year after 8 years of membership) I did have issues with certain aspects of my membership as a Christian. I did things out of my own volition of which I am not proud of, including hazing, and I make no excuses (pun intended) for my behavior. I hope to share my experiences of how I felt obligated to do these things in the name of sisterhood.

The goal here is not to condemn members of AKA or any sorority or fraternity, it is just to use my testimony to maybe help someone see what I now see about my membership. I know that these orgs have many people who join for many reasons. I don't know why you joined if you did, or if you allowed yourself to be hazed, or hazed people like I did, I can only speak for me, but in the same turn I know I speak for many.
