Lovely sound, nice change you made.

Sorry, I meant octave strings... I am making my own instruments now. If anybody wants to check them out, you can google "Merino Instruments".
Thanks again everybody for the kind words.

Hi everyone, this is Grian76. I lost access to my Youtube account after I linked it to a Google account... Sorry I haven't been able to answer your comments. I have just created this new account to start all over again...
To get rid of the lacquer I used an electric sander and it was f... hard to do. Another way to do it is to use chemichals that disolve the lacquer , and then work on from there.
On this video I am using unison strings. I paid about 400 euros for this model.

use a cabinet scraper, with some persiveranse it will come off

hi, good playing man.
which ashbury model is that? how much does it cost?
-
You should consider tabbing this; newbie bouzouki players like myself would dig it! This is quite beautiful music senor!

I think a condenser microphone might be a good investment! You play so well but your microphone lets you down.
Great playing! ;)

Is this unison or octave tuning?

It's octave tuning.

It's just an Ashbury (Korean made), same as Trinity, Ozark, etc. I have made a few changes on it to make it look/sound better. New brass tail piece, ebony bridge, rosewood peghead veneer. Also, I got rid of the old thick nitrocellulose lacquer and now it has a thin shellac based finish. I really makes a difference.
