  • To the 3 people who "dislike" this-You have no soul. From the moment I heard him sing on America's Got Talent I knew he would win. Michael-You are a super star and America loves you. By now the whole world loves you too.

  • @Rndy09 "just as much soul, if not more"?! You have zero knowledge of soul. Nowhere close to Otis Redding, Al Green, Percy Sledge, Etta James or Anthony Hamilton. A constipated growl emanated from your impacted molars does not make a soul singer. Soul is secular side of Black gospel. He would be eaten alive trying to keep up with genuine soul singer in a live performance. Look up classic live vids of Otis, Al Green, they go to church, this kid knows nothing about that.

  • Cool.

  • @MrGingerMatthews

Trust me, I understand what you're saying completely, and I'm not trying to just call you out, I'm just saying that I listen to the original versions of all the songs that he sings, and then I listen to his versions, and to me, he has just as much soul, if not more. =)) but understand, glad you like him either way

  • Witnessing a phenomena !! This humble young man has been tapped on the shoulder by God. His soulful sounds come right from his heart and soul. He's not Ray Charles,Otis Redding or anyone but Michael Grimm. He happens to convey their soulful sound on point. Yes he is a sensation but not an overnight one. He has been working hard at it for many years. Listen to his originals. There will come a day when other upcoming stars will be compared to Michael Grimm. Best of luck A fellow Katrina survivor

  • @shedale19 yes i saw him the first nite, and the very first full note was wonderful sound.i new at that moment he was the winner.it was his show to lose and for nobody else to win.you could see and hear it in the faces and the sound of the crowd .it was a powerful moment,it was like everyone knew it.i guess it was alot like when people first heard elvis for the first time, they knew it was something special.micheal is something very special,as a person and singer.your great micheal!

  • Not the genuine article. I guess I couldn't expect a different reaction from the people who follow this guy because you obviously think he's really great. I'm saying he's good but not as natural as the big o. It's hard to cover any song and do it justice like the original performance though :(

  • I know you don't hear a difference, that's why you're calling me out for having a different opinion. And obviously you're not paying attention to what I'm saying. I said in my opinion more black singers have soul than any other race. I didn't say that they're the only race who can sing soulfully. The singers that you mentioned like Michael McDonald and Bolton etc. of course have that quality. I never said that white people as a whole can't sing soulfully. Just saying that this guy is close but

  • @MrGingerMatthews

Sorry but I don't hear a difference between Grimm and Ray Charles, the guy sounds just like him, in fact, when I first heard Michael I thought he was black (I hadn't seen his face), I think you're letting the image fool you; but if what you're saying is accurate, then I guess u must be saying the same thing about Michael Bolton, Michael Mcdonald, Jonny Lang, Bruce Springstein, Delbert Mclinton, stevie ray vaughn, and any other blues/soul singer who is white, but ur opinion =)

  • I don't know if it got cut off on me because I'm on mobile or what. But I guess you can see where I was going with it lol

  • I guess to me there is a certain resonance that real soul singers have. In my opinion there are more black singers that have that gift than any other race and that's why I called it black soul. White boy blues is a term that I use for people like me who get as close to merely emulating that sound but not fully capturing the essence and pure genuine feel (soul) of it. I guess that it was a bad choice to use that terminology for this instance. But trust me when I say that it was in no way, shape
