Film preparation is the key to saving time when scanning - a few minutes will save many minutes in post production cleanup.
Clean film with blower or puffer to remove topical debris like dust and dirt. If the film requires cleaning, use PEC solution and sandwich the film inside a phone book to wick away the solution and dirt without scratching the film.
