  • @skimmo31 the cavalry :D * do doom chiss*

  • (cont). thanks to it's curvature and it's relative short length. A Sabre has a heavy pommel and hand guard, which both protects your hand and adds to the fluidity and dexterity of the Sabre.

Conclusion? Both are excellent weapons that were designed for specific purposes and both excelled at their respective roles. Sabres were not just for cosmetic effect, and Katana were not magic.

Besides, it's not the Sword that really counts, it's the Swordsman.

  • Will you guys be doing a video for your Civilian Sabre?

  • Damn, Prof. Delonges sounds, looks, and moves like a real gentlemen. Awesomeness.

  • @VillainousHanacha Hahaha! Same here. :)

  • (Cont). It's not that I'm a Fencer or a Kendoka or a Kenshi. It's just that Swords have always interested me, and I have put a long time into learning about them. Swords interest me from the a perspective that almost every country that had them used them as Symbols or in Heraldry, but yet and still they were functional tools of killing. I love how the sword has captured the imagination of cultures worldwide, and I just personally find them absurdly cool.

  • @J88Wolf Actually no, I am no Fencer. I just own a few books on the subject of Swords and other old Arms and Armor, so I learned about these weapons and how they are wielded through reading about them. Also I watch a lot of videos by people who know what they are talking about, people like the ARMA and other Historic Fencing societies. And although the ARMA doesn't practice any Sabre-related swordwork, I saw material from a HEMA group in the UK who practices Hutton Sabre. So...

  • @VillainousHanacha I can tell you know what you're talking about, you practice fencing aswell?

  • @DeathKnellOfLiberty Well, I tried to respond to you directly, but it looks like your account was suspended. Ooops, guess that's what happens when you stalk people and use crass hate speech. Better luck next time, buddy.
