Hi KradenEcho, Thanks for the comments! This was just a one-night challenge to make a moving robot that didn't use wheels, so it is not very well refined. Did you see my response to the video? As suggested by Rubberfishy, I added rounded feet and rubber (but across the whole foot). The rounded feet worked really well, but the rubber was too grippy. I want to make an automated installation using a genetic algorithm to improve the robots gait...
wouldn't it make more sense to make its legs move like an animal, e.g. front left and back right at the same time, then front right and back left at the same time.
also I know this is a prototype but why don't you curve the feet at the end instead of sharp right angles, I think it might be smoother.
Was this design to walk fluidly, or walk on glass?
As above, rubber would be a good idea.
But a good alt would be to curve the foot, and put rubber only on the heel.
That way it can walk 1-2 legs at a time, & the others would slide, letting you to seq. up a smoother walk.
But it would walk backwards.
...oh, and you'd need a 2nd leg down before you moved the 1st up, else it'll just go back n' forth

Thanks for the suggestions; I tried them all and motion seems to be much improved!
