The great Teresa Stratas sings "Final Scene" - "La grazie è dicesa dal cielo" from the opera "Suor Angelica" by G. Puccini. It is not the best quality of recording. Metropolitan Opera House, 26/09/1989. The conductor is James Levine.
Stratas never did a broadcast as Suor Angelica. At the Met she only sang the role (all three Trittico roles) in '89. She sang all 3 roles only 3 times in that run. She sang Giorgietta and Lauretta in a performance where Soviero sang Angelica (and sang the broadcast Angelica that season) and another Giorgietta with Soviero as Angelica and Hei-Kyung Hong as Lauretta. Would only there be a great recording of her in this. Most glad for this one. Thank you for sharing!
I join the chorus of applause: wonderful stratas

What a wonderful in house document of a great singer in a great performance. Did Stratas ever do an official broadcast of this role?
