Here's a video as a request from several of my viewers who wanted to see how I set up my JVC Everio GZHD6 for use with a Letus35 Mini DOF adapter. Enjoy!

All the stuff I am using is noted in the video and where I got it. (other than the Letus, which I got from letus direct dot com. ) Every part I talk about has information where you can find it on ebay or elsewhere.

  • @musichistorynut This is actually the most comprehensive walk through on the internet right now. It really answers all of the questions I had, and turned me on to the websites for more affordable gear. Thanks. Question, I have a JVC HD7 and the filter thread size is 46mm I found a converter ring on amazon to bring it down to 43mm, but I just wanted to know if you had any reason why it wouldn't work. Also, do you know any place to get affordable camera lenses?

  • @sundance37 Thank you! No reason that the converter wouldn't work. You may have to zoom a bit more in, that is all. The BEST lenses I have found, and are the least expensive are the Canon FD lenses. I LOVE those lenses. You can get a 50mm f1.4 for less than $100 if you look hard enough on eBay. You are better off getting new, but I have had good luck getting used. As long as they claim the lens is clean, no scratches, no fungus, no oil on the aperture, etc You will be just fine.

  • I have posted an update video showing my JVC GZ HD6 Setup watch?v=-A8DTz_Z-dg&hd=1 and the main reason I got it was based on this video. I now have over 450 videos, and I now use a digital recorder with a Rode Lavalier Mic plugged into it for the best possible audio I can afford

  • @PadavalamTV The image is right-side up. Letus products use a high quality prism to flip and reverse the image that comes through the lens. I started out with JAG35. And although having to flip the image in post of shooting with the camera mounted up-side down wasn't THAT big of deal, the idea of NOT having to do that was a BIG plus!! The image quality was a lot better with the Letus as well. As good as my DSLR is now. But I needed the convenience of the size of the DSLR.

  • @musichistorynut is the image upside down in this one , because i think that's the major differences between JAG35 and letus

  • @roshraw Yes, you may. There are two things you need to consider when purchasing these Letus Mini adapters. One is the size of your JVC HD10's thread size -(my JVC HD6 used 43mm lens thread) , and the other is what type of lens mount you need (in your case, you need an EF mount if you are using Canon DSLR lenses. IF you get one used, you may get the proper thread and lens attachments through Letus.

  • @musichistorynut can i use this adapter and rig for JVC HD10 i also have the canon DSLR so i will be using its lenses

  • @TonyBrownFilms It is a VERY nice setup. I was amazed at the quality of the footage I got with that setup. It just looked so nice. I HIGHLY recommend this if you already have an expensive high def camcorder!

  • @weaponeer I LOVE it. There are a few limitations it has. It is not the best for low-light performance, but other than that, I absolutely loved it.
