    When I was in high school in the early 1970's, I had a friend whose family was Jewishly observant. I would be invited for Shabbat dinner, and taught the rule that it is OK to play scrabble, as long as you keep score with bookmarks in the dictionary so that you don't have to write anything down. I found that pretty entertaining, much more so than the full day of Rosh Hashanah services I once attended with her at the local Orthodox shul.
