Canadians living in rural areas sometimes face long trips to see a family doctor. At least two towns have tried to be fair in assigning patients to incoming physicians by creating "doctor lotteries."
@FreeAgain2 They drive to the next town or city and find their own family doctor there or go to a walkin clinic without an appointment and see a doctor there. They can also go to emergency of any hospital for something a little more serious. The town in this video is less than a hour from Toronro.
@mizgeministarz This lottery has only happened a few times when a new doctor moves to a small rural town and names are picked to see who gets a regular family doctor. One doctor can see just so many people. All people in Canada get healthcare any time they want it. It is only in America that many don't get healthcare and die.
And if you are lucky enough to get the Powerball number, you get blood work as a bonus.

They suffer. They don't get healthcare. And hopefully they don't have something terminal and DIE WAITING.
