@fancypantschance,not 80's.bret favre was able to throw it in the 80"S when he was young ,and so did jeff george but only because jeff kept his index finger behind the ball to push it while he threw it.A baseball,yea you can throw it 70's 80's but a football is too big and more lighter.No weight to carry it.

@Slambertmilam11 jeff george had one of the fastest pass Or speed of the pass. And that is because he keptI his index finger on the tip of the ball to push it when he threw it . That is why it was never a perfect spiral but it had alot of zip on the ball,so much that it would be alittle hard to catch the ball.mant times i seen the ball bounce off from their #'s or shoulder pads .But Tim Brown did excellent with him while he was with the raiders....

@fancypantschance maybe the super jacked qbs with an extremely good throwing motions can sometimes get close to seventy, but no, most passes are generally a little under sixty.
