i mixed 70 percent cobalt blue powder with thirty percent black for a body color once, and several oranges for the wrap, it came out really really awesome, the orange looked like it glowed against the very dark cobalt.

  • @whocaresdk

you just get used to it. i can't blow with any sort of filtration anymore im just used to it. am i doing eye damage, probably, wear your safety equipment or accept the consequences.

  • @audioglass

yep i used to do a close approximation of your blue with a combination of cobalt blue and a couple other colors (I will respect trade secrecy and not mention them), cobalt by itself is a stiff color but i have noticed in all the crystal vids i've seen that working range is insanely big, i wish i could use it myself, but im in love with the system 96 cullet, their new stuff is so easy to charge, and so forgiving its not even funny.

  • @Dierwolf2000 I used to run the furnace at around 1060C. it was lead crystal. seriously runny! Though I have to say we always found that without cobalt in it, it stayed hotter for longer. The more cobalt we put in the quicker the glass would cool when you touched it. I'm using the same crystal glass now but its batch. Intensely brilliant glass. It stays hot a ridiculous amount of time. Incredible shapes can be had once you get used to it.

  • @audioglass

if its glasma its 96, however it probably looks like it stays hotter than clear 96 because its got cobalt in it, and is therefore likely held at a different temp.

  • @rbarba23 When Dartington Crystal started back in the 1960s the locals were trained up by Swedish glass makers. Thats how the foot board got to England.

  • goood job jacking .... good shaping but worste video

  • hey dipshit i personally know this guy and lack of brains aint something he suffers from, peace out!
