Most of these guys sound awful. Walk into any Guitar Center any day of the week and you'll hear this blistering wankery nonstop. The one guy who sounds a bit like Eric Johnson 1:40 is the only one who approximates music. Where the hell are the Flamenco, Jazz, traditional Blues, country, fingerstyle etc players? Everything sounds like that neo classical/metal--sterile copies of Yngwie Malmsteen with no sense of rhythm or melody whatsoever

You're right music is a matter of taste, but this guys are only showing off their skills, that is not music. They all lack feeling and melody, music is supposed to transfer emotions. This is just nonsense playing, and for some just noise.
