Ripping instrumental by The Cousin Lovers, recorded "Live" at The Mint in Los Angeles in September 1998. The band's primary songwriter, Tim Ferguson, wrote gritty songs about Los Angeles in the bluegrass style he grew up with in Newnan Georgia. After transplanting to Los Angeles he soon teamed up with transplanted Kentuckians Stuart Johnson and siblings, Dean and Barry Thomas in 1995. Shortly afterward they completed the lineup with Craig Eastman.
The band was slightly ahead of the resurgence of Bluegrass spurred by the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" (2000). The Cousin Lovers actually played the movies premiere party in Hollywood before seeing the movie themselves.
