Myanmar PM inspect all-round renovation of the Shwedagon Pagoda

Prime Minister General Thein Sein accompanied by Lt-Gen Myint Swe this morning paid homage to Shwedagon Pagoda and inspected all-round renovation of the pagoda at 9 am.

Myanmar Human Rights Committee held its work coordination meeting 3/2008 at the Ministry of Home Affairs in NayPyiTaw, on Tuesday. Chairman of the Committee Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Maung Oo gave a speech. He said Myanmar Human Rights Committee needs -to present the work undertakings of respective work groups on human rights. Arrangements are underway for holding workshops on human rights. He urged those present to discuss measures for emergence of ASEAN Human Rights Committee.


Next, officials presented work undertakings of their respective work groups and then, the meeting ended with concluding remarks by the Minister.
