With a modern quick draw holster the elegantly tailored Cairo would have put finish to that meddling private dick and then gone to dinner with the lady.

Today, most men just won't stand for a woman slapping a man. Today Bogie would give her a belt in the mouth and a good telling off and THEN take care of the slimebag bloke (probably a 'Hugo' any way) in the time honoured fashion.
