Narrator: Stellan Skarsgård (Alex´s dad)
Child: Valter Skarsgård (Alex´s "lille bror" little brother)

The Story: Mother, father and child in the kitchen. They´ve run out of sugar and the child is sent over to grandma to get some. The child takes its every day route down the garden, over the fence, it crosses the street, gets the sugar and...

On its way back home the child is killed by a car, driven by a man in a Saab convertible, making a pleasure trip with his wife. But he was driving too fast and nothing will ever be as it has been before.

    din jäkla p12:a, du är uppenbarligen inte utvecklad nog för att förstå filmens budskap. Endast outvecklade skitungar använder även bög som en förolömpning. Tips: gå först och främst och utveckla ditt ordförråd, du verkar ju endast ha tillgång till ca. 15 ord(asså, jävla, bög etc.) För det andra, filmen försöker inte visa hur "efterbliven" ungen är, utan snara att man inte bör köra för fort och vara ouppmärksam i traffiken. så gör oss alla en tjänst och håll käften.

    Det är fortfarande ungens fel att han springer ut över vägen. Inte skulle mannen kunna rå för att han blev påkörd. Hur skulle han kunna veja? Det är barnets fel att han får skuldkänslor för resten av sitt liv. Kvinnan får bara överdrivet med uppmärksamhet.

    Denna filmen såg jag på min riskutbildning när jag tog körkort. och budskapet är inte att killen körde för fort (se bromsspåren) och inte heller att pojken var"efterbliven". budskapet är att både han som körde och pojken hade fokusen på helt andra saker. pojken tänkte på båten. och mannen som körde tänkte på havet och sin käresta. så är det.

    I agree with you pavlova79 about your anti-Bajs comment. When I first read this in Swedish class, I was really taken by the story. And the film brought it to life although there were some aspects that were different. To dismiss something like this as bajs is obviously a juvenile attempt to rile people up. But then that's what comments sections seem to be for.

    Ekas12345: I'm writing a year after your post, but I don't think the film has anything at all to do with driving too fast. I think it's a commentary on how fragile life is and how anyone's fortune can change at a moment. You're happy one moment and then suddenly a tragedy strikes that haunts you and everyone else the rest of your and their lives. What if the man hadn't needed gas or the mother had bought sugar or the kid hadn't climbed over the fence and then run around again. Life is chance.

    Om jag inte missminner mig helt, så skrev Dagerman texten ca en halvtimme innan han skulle lämna in den. Den är i mina ögon fantastiskt bra, och den gick som kortfilm innan långfilmen på bio. Faktum är att en del folk som såg den valde att gå hem istället för att ta bilen. Det säger en hel del om hur den påverkade folk. Att du säger "Bajs" säger en hel del om dig.
