My name is Ezra Weiss, and my dream is to record a CD of original compositions for big band. I've written a bunch of big band music over the years, but haven't had the opportunity to record much of it... until now! Through this Kickstarter campaign, you can help me record the big band CD of my dreams.

The Rob Scheps Big Band is the band for the job. This band, led by amazing saxophonist Rob Scheps, is one of the best big bands I've ever heard. They've been together for ten years now, and I've been lucky to have them performing my music.

The entire band is incredible. The reed section is Rob Scheps, Gary Harris, Scott Hall, Willie Matheis, and Kirt Peterson. The trumpets are Rich Cooper, Paul Mazzio, Greg Garrett, and Conte Bennett. The trombones are Stan Bock, Tom Hill, Dave Bryan, and Jattik Clark plays tuba. Ramsey Embick plays piano, Tim Gilson plays bass, and Ward Griffiths plays drums. I'll be a guest pianist on a few of the tunes.

And to put this CD over the top, Greg Gisbert will be joining us as special guest trumpet soloist. He's one of the best there is. He's played with the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Buddy Rich, Toshiko Akiyoshi, the Vanguard Band, Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jimmy Heath, Roy Hargrove, and the Mingus Big Band, among others.
