In the end a file system is all about access, quick and easy. This brings the journey full circle:

Stacks of documents in real life
2D Representations of documents in a computer
3D stacks of documents (as in real life) in a computer

The whole point of 2D was simplicity.

The lasso gestures are interesting. Piles are good. Fan-out is nice. Pie menus might actually be useful in this system. That said, my filename info is way more important usually than icon location info, so the windows and photos views are better than icon views for me. Sort by date and kind would be essential too.

Well, who does really need a physics in UI? It's funny but pretty useless. It probably consumes too much CPU power and RAM (so I think you should sell it to Microsoft :) ).

However, I want to use it in real life, because my desk is too messy and I'm too lazy to clean it normally.

I think the idea is very interesting, I would like to TRY it, but I think it could be very boring/time consuming after a while.

my left and right mouse is alot faster than this thing on window xp. it may look real but... useless.

certainly waste of computing power (and hence increasingly scarce energy) but nice toy/entertainment.

look how the useless desktop-cube was attracting people to linux.
