This video is the interior high speed camera views from the Jordan Rollover System (JRS) Tests of a 2000 Ford Explorer and a Volvo XC90. @the454engine2009 brans spanking ne would be considerd a total new structure. Now if you want to say it wasn an updates structure then yes you are correct but it's not a brand spanking new structure. the GMT900 shares many of its parts with the GMT800 hence an update.

@the454engine2009 the new Chevy Tahoe is based on the modfied GMT800/900 platform. that was deisgned back in the mid 90's. but that doesn't negate the fact that structural changes in a decde hasn't improved by a lot.

@SteelCity1981 Oh and just because it's newer, doesn't mean it is safer. The new Chevy Tahoe for instance, is obviously new but has a very week roof and this 2003 Volvo XC90 is still stronger!
