@lunog Really? I thought (at least the way I understood it from the extras on the DVD) that Devlin was just giving Alicia a chance to change by herself. I mean in reality, another person can't really change somebody else. That person has to change themselves when it all comes down to it.

Certainly one of my favorite Hitch films. I took a cinematography course in college that focused on Hitchcock films as the focus of master story telling. The professor disected the hundreds of subtleties and naunces that are nearly subliminal in Hitch's films. Initially, I thought the course would be just nit picking, but... truly made me appreciate the immense talent of this legendary director.

Thank you so much for uploading this one. Cary Grant is so sexy and handsome, great chemistry between the two! I must have watched this a hundred times by now.

@sandmd94 No... But he is also a man of his time. Men in general where assholes to women because society norms in those times teached that free spirit women where not supposed to be trustable nor good future wives and mothers. In fact in this movie, among others of his, Hitchcock seems he is trying to demystify that assumption.

Am I the only one that thought Grant was a bit of an asshole?

Great movie, fabulous chemistry between Bergman (one of the most beautiful women who ever graced the screen) and Grant..... having said that, am I the only one who felt a little sorry for Sebastian, I know he's the "bad guy" but still...

@RiddlingSphinx Absolutely right in every respect! it is probably one of THE most beautifully photographed black and white films! Every scene is lovingly filmed, bringing the audience "into" the shot! The long shot descending the staircase to a close-up of the ley in Bergman's clenched hand is but one such example! You comment is right on the money!
