David Irving Interview - Part 1 - An Independent Mind (2008)

The English Centre of International PEN reviewed the film approvingly:

THE final interview, and arguably the most controversial, was with the historian David Irving. While he still vehemently denies accusations of racism, anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial, Irving conceded that he had voiced "doubts and scepticism" about Auschwitz during a speech he had given in Austria in 1989. He was arrested for attempting to reactivate the Nazi party and in trial admitted that he had denied that Nazi Germany had killed millions of Jews. In February 2006, he was sentenced to three years in prison.

While in no way condoning Irving's position on the Holocaust, English PEN deplored the court's decision. "It should not be a crime in a free society to publish opinion, however poorly dressed up as fact," PEN said in a statement. "It is more important than ever that democracies deal with contentious issues through debate and ridicule rather than through suppression by law."

Similarly, Irving contended that everyone should be given a voice, no matter how contentious their opinion. "I want to visit a free Germany where everyone is free to say what they want and that every opinion can be freely held up and exposed either to acclaim or ridicule," he said. "As soon as you start saying this opinion is acceptable and that option isn't acceptable then you are degrading society, and society is losing in the long run." While Bloomstein conceded that Irving "represents something immensely troubling" he was adamant that "we have to take these people on [] Irving makes us think about the limits."

I´m sick of media, governments and it´s useful idiots treating revisionists like shit. If the ''Holocaust'' is so true, why is it forbidden to deny it? If revisionists are so stupid, so evil and wrong, it´d be easy for them to reply them! Why isn´t it forbidden to deny Armenian Holocaust? Why indigenous ppl from America weren´t paid like jews for being massacred by conquerors? Why Red Cross told nothing about gas chambers? Why Churchill told nothing about Holocaust on his book?

Irving became a target the minute he wouldnt fabricate history..or go along with established 'legend'. Any man who will risk being put in prison to spread the truth is admirable in my eyes. Stay strong David. Buy his books if only to see another side of the story.

@karnvapenkrig I've reading ''history'' for years and i see the same shit, figures of more dead jews than all the jew population in Europe on the time, stories about ''death chambers'' taken from fiction movies, a trial where the accused had no right to defend themselves, sorry but ''to historians is given a talent that even 4 gods is denied, to change what it happended'' (David Irving).. i will keep reading counter-history.. you should try it..

David Irving is a modern day philosopher! He tells the truth , but unfortunately ,the Jews control all media outlets now! His disreputable manipulation of primary evidence to suit his agenda has been widely acknowledged by the academic community and as such, he has been an outcast since. Listening to this bloke is no different from swallowing the horseshit that comes out of Fred Phelps. I certainly agree with a lot of the things Irving says... but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him, and unfortunetly he's dug his own hole.

Attention:

Revisionists aren´t precisely nazis, admiring Hitler doesn´t imply to be a nazi, that´s like thinking ppl who admire Napoleon are all conquerors and ride white horses.

We don´t deny that there was a prosecution and repression of jews, what we deny is the distortion of true, lies so stupid that they have to be kept through terror and ignorance.

The day when you have a decent debate with Mr Irwing instead putting him on jail for exercising free speech is the day we´ll believe on you.

Also red cross did tell the government, just the government chose to ignore them....however red cross ever since should of kept pressing the matter and gone global with it, recently they released the records -again- which is good.
