  • hey, thanks for all the people interested in my video. The glass cutter I used was just a cheap £2 cutter from a DIY store. I scored the bottle quite a lot. I did it till there was quite a deep line all the way round the glass, otherwise the cracks go anywhere on the bottle. Hope this helps.

  • Hello. In answer to your question.

    - I am from newcastle, so i have geordie accent, however the start of the video is a poor impersonation of an american accent which i failed at miserably haha

  • @HankLafayette Basically you take a standard glass cutting tool and make a score line around where you want to cut. Then you slowly pour hot or boiling water over the score line trying only to heat the actual line it's self. Once you feel it is hot enough dip it in some ice cold water and if it has been done properly it should just break free.

  • @MrAwsome514 I'm interested in making my own guitar slides using seamless wine bottles. Would you please make a video showing your method (or provide a link to a clip of someone doing what you've described)? When you mention boiling water, do you mean to let the bottle crack off while being submerged in the water, or should you transfer from hot to cold, then back and forth until you get a break? Any insight would be of great value, so thanks in advance.

  • @F3lixMjamjar That's actually the reason I was watching this. I'm a guitar player and have seen a LOT of glass cutting videos that involve either a) too much professional glass cutting gear b) too much left to chance with "maybe you'll get a clean break." A word on bottles for guitar slides: try to find a seamless bottle neck, as a seamless glass will provide a 100% playable surface. A bottle with a corked top (not screw on) will provide more glass for your slide (i.e. wine bottles).

  • really useful. I take it the same wouldvapply if i wanted to make a guitar slide...
