Ch. 6


When we left off, Nick had just told Emily and Breann that they, Kaitlyn, Nick, Joe, and Kevin were all going to be going on a group date together. Kaitlyn and Nick had left Circle of Friends.

REMEMBER: Kaitlyn lives close to the library and the library is close to Circle of Friends, so she lives close to Circle of Friends. Also, Emily and Breann are just her Best Friends, but she has a BFF that is closer to her in many ways.

Nick and Kaitlyn are now walking down the street toward the library. Nick has put back on his hat, glasses, and coat just in case the mob of girls decides to come and look for him again.

Nick—so...those are your best friends?

Kaitlyn—Well, yeah. They are just my best friends though.

Nick—What do you mean?

Kaitlyn—I have, I guess you could call it. A *Kaitlyn puts up her hands and does air quotations when she says...* "BFF"

Nick—oh, how come she wasn't there? Does she hang out with Breann and Emily?

Kaitlyn—Well, she does sometimes.

Nick—Oh. Why not?

Kaitlyn—Well, she's actually my cousin.

Nick—oh, is she somewhere? Do you think I should meet her?

Kaitlyn—well, actually I was just about to do that. She lives next door to me and is usually at my house.

Nick—you live down here?

Kaitlyn—yeah just down the street. It only takes like 10 minutes to walk to the library from my house.

Nick—Cool.

They get to Kaitlyn's house and walk in.

Kaitlyn—I'm home!

Elliot—So did you smooch with the big celebrity!?

Kaitlyn—ELLIOT! If you haven't noticed, I brought the big celebrity home.

Elliot—Oh, right, sorry. *He walks up to Nick and stretches his hand out and put it into a fist. * Knuckle touch.

Nick—Oh, ok. *Does the same thing and touches his knuckles to Elliot's*

Kaitlyn—*talking to Elliot* Gosh, You are so weird. But you still rock. *She gives him a hug. * This is Nick. Nick, Elliot. Elliot, Nick.

Nick—Nice to meet you.

Elliot—you too braw (it means bro in his language)

Kaitlyn—So, Elliot, is Katie Here? *To Nick* my cousin.

Nick—Oh.

Elliot--Yeah, she's in the kitchen with mom and dad.

Kaitlyn—Ok, thanks. *To Nick* Follow me.

They walk past Elliot into the kitchen where there are three people sitting at an oval shaped table. Nick is walking behind Kaitlyn (they are about the same height) so Kaitlyn's mom and dad don't notice Nick at first. The girl sitting in the middle is in the middle of an exciting story about what happened at the youth group her and Kaitlyn go to.

Mom—Hey Kaitlyn. How was your date?

Dad—yeah, did that punk to anything to you?

Kaitlyn—Well dad, why don't you just ask him? *She grabs Nick's hand and pulls him to her side. She doesn't let go of his hand. *

Dad—Oh, um, hello.

Kaitlyn—Dad, Mom, this is Nick.

Dad—Good to meet you boy. *He shakes Nick's free hand* Sorry about the punk thing.

Nick—No problem.

Katie--OMJ! That is totally Nick Jonas! I mean of course I knew you were going on a date with him, because you told me, but I didn't think you would bring him home!

*Katie stands up and goes and hugs Kaitlyn. Then hugs Nick. Nick looks a little taken back. *

Kaitlyn—Hey Katie *to Nick* She's really friendly. She learned to be friendly from none other then the Lord almighty's book. It says to love your neighbor, so that's exactly what she does. We started hanging out so much just because our names are so close. After that we just started getting along really well.

Katie went and sat back down and continued with her story.

Nick—*to Kaitlyn* Cool. Do you think she will be okay? I mean I don't have a date for her.

Kaitlyn—Yeah, she doesn't date. Not yet, at least. Do you think she could still come though?

Nick—Yeah, of course. My mom and dad said I should bring Frankie with us, so she can hang out with him. I have a feeling he will really like her.
