Mr. BEAUTIFUL Rock Hudson in Something of Value (1957).
--------------------
Film info:
Based on Robert C. Ruarks best selling novel, Something of Value portrays the real life Mau Mau uprising in Kenya. Peter McKenzie (Rock Hudson) strives to understand the demands of freedom and equality made by his childhood friend Kimani (Sidney Poitier). McKenzie and Kimani find themselves on opposite sides of the fence when Kimani aligns himself with the Mau Mau.
There were a few theatres in the American south that felt the racial tensions in "Something of Value" hit too close to home and refused to show the film.

The Mau Mau were not a tribe.

The part I remember well when I watched this movie was when the Mau Mau tribe raided one of the settlers house and smashed up all the furniture in it and stole guns. I haven't seen it recently for quite sometime on TV.....................
