Aside from trying to get some shots of the Hermann Park Train before the official final run Jan. 1, this starts an entire series of shots I've done tracing the route of the updated and lengthened Hermann Park Train due to open in March. This appears to be the curve that will mark where the new station will be located.

Oh, and by half of regular gauge, I meant half the size of typical trains that run on the 4.5 foot gauge. This is an 8 inch widening from the original 16 inch gauge used while I was on board with the crew.

  • There had no support of rail spike and bolts joint?

  • Not at this point - assuming the conservancy didn't screw it up, I believe they have those in place.

  • Not at this point, no. However, now that the construction is finished, they have added what you ask about.

  • Typical trains operate on what is called standard guage track. It is 4'8.5" not 4.5
