I don't care about who owns what name and all that baloney. I just can't stand it when groups WITHOUT any ORIGINAL or PRIMARY members get up on stage and receive accolades that they don't deserve!!!!

@survivor337 - ALSO...thank you for having the respect for Edwin he has earned and deserves. He has never, nor will he ever, give up his rights he earned and paid for monetarily when the court case was battling on. You're the best!

@survivor337 - NO problem, and I certainly didn't take you any other way. It's great that you care about TRUTH, and apparently there are plenty of people out there who still don't. AND, in turn, I don't know anyone else who has the COMPLETE unaltered court records...about 4 inches thick, actually. I've read them and know what's there, and there are a few people who would rather we not know what's really there. :-) It IS WHAT IT IS and will remain. Thank you, Survivor337, for responding.

@EC and COmpanyB...First, I apologize for believing what amounts to being a long standing RUMOR about Shirley "giving you guys the rights to the name". MY bad.
As stated earlier, I have a great respect for Edwin, the guys and their talents, and never meant ANYTHING I said regarding the current lineup to be construed in any other way. I wish Cornell Gunter's Coasters nothing but the best now and in the future.

@survivor337 - and You are COMPLETELY correct that these guys are NOT ORIGINAL! THERE ARE NO MORE ORIGINALS, in the true definition. You are absolutely correct that none of these guys on stage were with Cornell Gunter at the time you are referencing. Charlie Duncan was a drummer first, not a Coaster. Edwin Cook joined Cornell as A C.G.COASTER from day one in January, 1982, still retains his rights through the Fed. Court Judgment 1993.

@survivor337 - You are not totally correct. I have the complete court case files, which I requisitioned from the Federal Archives. I have a certified copy of the Federal District Court Judgment. The fact is, Shirley Gunter NEVER had any rights to the name. PROVEN IN COURT. The Federal District Court Judgment of June 11, 1993, handed down by Judge Howard D McKibben, County of Clark, City of Las Vegas, awarded the name to Charles Duncan AND Edwin Cook, equally. Edwin still retains rights.

@CGCoastersinc Hey all, Go easy on each other, eh? Edwin is a killer singer/performer in his own right as are the other guys, however it is a known fact that Cornell's sister Shirley sanctioned the name and now you guys have the rights to it. I was at Wally Heider studio in SF in late 1975 WITH Cornell, Teddy and Buster (Cornell's Coasters lineup in 1975) where I sang harmonies on "Love In My Heart", and "Wishing Well", both written by Cornell, and "Down In Mexico" and "Poison Ivy". Semantics!

@TheSinger1004 well, I guess it's what you are *use* to! Like with Michael Jackson. When he was a KID, he was GREAT, but, MY *impression* of him deminished with the persona that he took on! BUT...that is MY freedom, just as it was HIS freedom to DO the things he did. But, ONE fact remains...NO ONE can *duplicate* Michael Jackson, NO MATTER what or how they try!
As a closing word...I won't apologize for my *feelings* about THIS group...but for my *choice* of WORDS! SORRY I SUCK at it too!

@TheFidLady no one can challenge that they are not original members, most of the originals have passed on, I was responding more to the statement you made that "They suck" in no way is that true, they are great entertainers

This is The Original CORNELL GUNTERS COASTERS we work very closely with THE COASTERS and support The Truth in Music. We hope you will do a little research next time you make a statement as to who are originals and also not hide yourself !
