This shows Cameron Smith and Andrew Hesed making striped cane blanks, for use in producing multiple pieces of art. This process is about the only thing I got on video in the hot shop this season. Oh well, more to come in the future.

  • I really does help. Also it flips lefty/righty. We only have it on our biggest gloryhole.

    Thanks for the cool question!

  • I think i figured it out. When the carbon is gone it is at the right temp?

  • No, sorry, that's not it. The carbon black is there to keep the canes from sticking to the pastorelli as they come up to heat. We judge the right temp by the color and by how the canes have fused. Thanks for the great question and logical guess!!

  • sweet!
