My personal top 10 list of Alan Moore comics. Don't be upset when your favourite comic didn't make my list. I've to apologize for several errors in the text. I think it was late and I had two or three.

  • You should read "Final Judgement" really really great!

  • @inchains02 I held it in my hands during my last shopping frenzy but then I read Liefeld's name on it and suddenly I decided to put it back into the shelf.

  • Spellcheck. Please.

  • @bamboosa Really? After 32 months on the air?

  • Nice list. I got my hands on Top 10 and loved it!! Also have you ever got around to reading Promethea? It makes it high up on my list, I think it's one of his best works. And how was Lost Girls?

  • @CloneCommandos101 Promethea is a damn good comic book although I find Moore's religious/philosophical approach a little bit too demanding for my taste but that's me. Lost Girls is an erotic comic. The synopsis is a bit like League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen. Literary female characters like Wendy from Peter Pan, Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Dorthy from Wizard of Oz exchange their sex adventures.

  • How is Top 10 missing from your Top 10?

  • Alan Moore's Swamp Thing period was awesome, some of the best stories I've ever read in comic books. In particular the issue in which Swamp Thing turns Gotham into a forest until his girlfriend Abbey was released from prison. The single best image was of a Swamp Thing made from a massive redwood tree. Great stuff.

  • @mariano26788 Most fans treasure it as best Joker story ever told but it's also good to hear a voice of dissent.

  • @mexicanman221 Lol,that's unbelievable, your 'English teacher' obviosly hasn't read,From Hell, watchmen,V for vendetta,The league,'Sagas of the Swampthing(some of his best works IMO).Moore is a litarary genious, anybody who says otherwise either hasn't read his stuff or can't even grasp it,ie your English teacher!

  • @mexicanman221 I don't think you could write a critical analysis on Alan Moore's works because they're TOO deep and thematically-dense!

  • watchmen is amazing

  • Another series Alan Moore did that's worth checking out is 1963, from Image Comics, which has sort of a "retro" feel to it, and it pays homage to the Lee/Kirby era of Marvel. You might be able to find it on amazon. Ditto Supreme, and Judgement Day from Rob Liefeld's Extreme Comics. Smartest thing Liefeld ever did was hire Alan Moore. Checker Books collected them into one or two volumes.

  • @mexicanman221 Alan Moore's work is filled with depth and themes. that teacher has no idea what he's talking about.
