Schumann Arabesque Opus 18 played by Josiah Caleb Wilkinson

Josiah is eleven now and and has just finished a cycle of his repertoire. This Schumann Arabesque was one of his recital pieces. Aside from the instruction of his teacher, he took as his main inspiration the interpretation of Vladimir Horowitz which can be found on YouTube.

This is our first attempt to achieve higher quality sound by using a digital recorder but we found--as is plain to see--that the video and audio are not synced precisely. Also, Windows Video Maker seems to produce some jerky passages which are bothersome but at least the audio remains stable.

The purpose of the split audio track was to improve the quality. I have the original audio that was recorded on the video tape.Perhaps I will past that as a reference for naysayers.I consulted a friend who is a video technician about the sync problems and I should have some answers on that. It is funny-the audio starts with the video and ends with the video-but in the middle is far out of synch. I suspect this has to do with the video being made in some format that is not in exact "real" time.
