Haunting, lovely, and poetic. Wonderfully performed by the Norman Luboff Choir, from their 1955 album 'Songs of the West'.

  • Just about my favorite album (and I've got hundreds of them). My dad too (RIP) used to play this in the early '60s when we were kids and I've loved it ever since.

  • Great version of this song. The only other version I have is sung by Roy Rogers. Both are very touching.

    Hello Peggy,

Thank you for commenting! I've loved this album for decades--it was one of the first I owned, in the '50s. I got a replacement copy for my uploading.

    Best Regards,

    David
