Any updates, videos, or pictures of your final project? I would really like to see how you did this.

So the SCX cars use these plungers? they have the flippers as well dont they? are the flippers purely for the older cars that do not have plungers?
-
How exactly dose the car change sides ? Or where can find the info ?
-
How much deeper did rout the x overs?
-
why so small .

the flippers work in conjunction with the plungers on plastic scx digital track. all scx digital cars have plungers, but because of the way scx digital works there really is no need for a flipper.

the SCX cars change lanes by activating a plunger in the guide. when the car approaches a lane changer, if the LC button is pressed, the plunger is pushed down and the car changes lanes. on my wood track, this is accomplished via the shallow and deep crossovers. the shallow part of the x-over goes straight, while the deep part cuts over to the other lane. if the plunger is down, the car cannot go straight and must follow the deep guide into the other lane.

i never measured anything. i just eyeballed it. nearly the entire track is routed deep enough to clear the guide when the plunger is fully extended.
the straight sections between the entrance and exit of the crossovers are routed shallower; just deep enough to allow the guide to clear when the plunger is NOT depressed. i hope that makes sense.

this is just a test track using wood that i had lying around in the garage. the final track will be a D oval, approximately 20 feet by 8 feet with a fully functioning pit lane with individual stalls for each car.
