Madison Shockley Sr. was a life-long activist, continuing his work for peace through the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the anti-Viet Nam movement, the nuclear disarmament movement (including several arrests at Nevada test sites) and he visited high schools to talk to youth about alternatives to military service.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilshire United Methodist Church, 4350 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, 90010 on Wednesday August 10 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Gordon Marchant, Pastor.
I feel so grateful for Madison's life. Through my friendship and sisterhood with Anedra, who I met in 1974, I was welcomed into his family and heart. Madison and Audrey's love came at a very important time in my life. I feel so thankful for the Shockley Family's presence in my life and you are always in my prayers and in my heart. I know Madison is wrapping his arms around all of us surrounding us with his blessed Love and Peace reminding us to courageously live our lives from a place of love.
