This is my first test of a heliostat that I have been working on. More information can be found at the above link.

And if you're wondering why the perspective changes at one point in the video, it's because I accidentally knocked the camcorder. :)

  • excellent work and excellent website..its people like you who make the world a better place! i am working on a proto-type heater and will try your heliostat controls.peace!

  • Thanks!

It will be interesting to see what you come up with. The controls are still beta, and I still have a lot of work to do regarding documentation, so be careful. Everything seems to be working well so far though.

  • Like a sun flower!

  • Very good tracking, Well done & thank you for sharing

  • What's it good for? Well, imagine 4 or 5 of these pointing sunlight into different windows during the winter and then think how that might affect your heating bill.

Or concentrate several mirrors on a single hot water heating system for free hot showers.

I've searched youTube often for heliostat designs that "everyman" can make and this is the best I've found! Check out his site.

    Great job, gpm4985!
