Mexican song written in 1940 by Consuelo Velázquez before her sixteenth birthday. According to Velázquez, she was inspired by an aria from a Spanish opera by Enrique Granados.Emilio Tuero was the first to record the song. It has since been performed by many artists including, notably, Elvis Presley The Beatles, and this Apollo 100 70's version. Apollo 100 was a short lived British instrumental studio based group.
My favorite space-race tune!
