let the kids of today enjoy cosby's old jokes through mencia. there's no other way. either use it or lose it. i'm sure "the cos" wouldn't mind.

Yeah I liked Cosby's better :)

but Mencia had a different approach to it.

Cosby's version was about patience and love

Mencia's approach was indeed a little angrier XD

But I enjoyed both versions and I'm happy to hear it again. :)

I think people are too caught up with originality and these guys are both comedians, both very talented and both very charismatic.

If you come to a stand up, you should just enjoy the show, because life is too short to get pissed off at every little thing... ^__^

You're right...everyone should just steal old jokes. Why write something new and bring anything unique and personal to the stage? I'm just gonna go rent an old Richard Pryor performance and then do that on stage from now on.

I never said that stealing jokes was right.

What I meant by that is, tell me how many variations of ideas can everyone possibly come up with that hasn't been thought of before.

There are 1000s of years of stories told after another. Is it possible to create a joke that has never been thought of before?

originality is a sham, only creativity exists... and thats the ability to take an idea and make it better

If you dont agree with me on that, then there really isn't much left I can say

There are TONS of original ideas out there. Internet, iPod, netflix, MySpace, YouTube...all words that didn't exist when Cosby recorded his show. But they exist now...and they're waiting to be made fun of.

And while, yes, sometimes two (or more) comedians come up with a similar idea independent of each other...but Bill Cosby Himself was one of the most watched stand-up specials of all time. There is no way a dude with aspirations of comedy never saw that special.

Joe Roegan sumed it all up by his statement on O&A. " Carlos is a Hack"...What a complete waste of air and time on stage. Carlos has stolen so many bits that he has forgoten most of them and unfortunatley he now thinks he didn"t steal any of them, and argues the point. Yet too many comedians have spoken up and compared the bits that it is obvious. Truley sad.
