  • I have completely restored a 1977 targa 3.0 liter. It looks and runs like new. The old clock stopped working years ago and I was looking in this porsche catalog and they are wanting close to $500.00 for a after market. I am not going to spend that kind of money when I could see the time on the Stereo but I would like to get the car to a 100% standing. Where can I find one?

Are there any years to avoid due to crazy emissions junk or just general chronic maintenance problems? I'd like a 85 or later but they're so expensive. I was looking at a nice 77 on eBay the other day but was wary because it was right in the "bad years" when the industry was trying to figure out how to cope with US smog regs. Also it had the 2.7L engine which I don't know much about.

  • Beautiful car. I have a 964, and I think: the real 911 is an aircooled model of Porsche cars.

  • I like the older engines the bullet proof 3.0 is great but realy does lack the torque that the 2.7 liters have. Great car though.

  • 78 to 83 are sc variants they go anywhere from 5-7 complete restos to 11-15 solid cars may need odds and ends to 20 for a flawless one , 84 and up go from 13 low to 23 depending on what they have g50 transmission wheels and other things the 3.0 and the 3.2 motors are excellent 3.2 is a bit more potent than the 3.0 but both are bulletproof

  • how much do these normally go for (1978-1984)

  • Is that an 911 sc?

  • There's nothing like the sound of an air cooled 911. Awesome car.

  • Sweet vid! Looks identical to mine (the car, not the vid!)

  • While you feeling the pleasure of watching some very nice dials, not like nowadays cars dials, you are thinking maybe right now i feel better watchig this great 911 dials than that girls ass for a change
