It's a mystery alright BUT there is simply no hard evidence that they did anything other than crashed and sank. She was indeed a lovely lady and a very great figure in the history of aviation. One can only speculate how she would have helped the war effort...

@spitfireJEJ At that time, if Earhart and Noonan went down into Saipan for whatever reason, the japanese would hve assassinated them either way and any foreigners found especially if they were from the west. Jst that simple..you dnt need hard evidence, just common sence & logic. If the US found any evidence about that when they were stationed in saipan later on, they would have hid or destroyed it just like they do with everything else. Why does the US hide shit ? Thats the real Unsolved Mystery
