I look up this clip, watch it, greatly amused and then once it's over I gently scroll down to see what my fellow YouTube viewers thought of this scene...with one eye on adding to the list of favourable comments.....and then I see the discussion between G03411d8 and TheRabidDidactic and I hit the bottle instead.

I saw this advertised during the break of another show, and I thought, 'A Touch of Cloth? This has to be a piss-take'.

    Turns out it is.

    Which is nice.

No because race is biological. And proven by science. Saying it's a social construct is PC nonsense.

I wish they had made this show without all illogical scenes because it just looks like a British version the naked gun.

You seem to accept that humans evolved in Africa and migrated to other parts of the globe, but then disagree with out of Africa theory which says exactly that. The level of admixture which occured following human migration doesn't change the fact that humans originated in Africa. Also talking about 'race' is scientifically unsound, its a social construct with no basis in biology. Are you clinging to multiregional because it adheres to your preconceptions about race?

I would disagree and say that is much closer to multi-regional, as Neanderthal evolved gradually from Homo Erectus in Europe and then to Homo heidleburgis(sp?) and then Neanderthal in Europe, likely the same went for Denisovia, thus when Homo Sapien Sapien left Africa and mixed with these other hominems, thus forming the Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Negroid races each in the geographical location of the species they mixed with. I'd call that more multiregional than OOA

Homo sapiens evolved from European Homo erectus. Which there is no evidence for. The fact of the matter is, the actual pattern of human migration is more complex than either of these models suggest, precisely because they are only models. But multiregional is certainly the furthest from the truth. (2/2)

No, evidence indicates neanderthals and denisovia evolved in Africa, then dispersed to the rest of the world. Then Homo sapiens evolved and dispersed, and there was probably some interbreeding between Homo sapiens and other local Homo species. This is much closer to Out of Africa than multiregiona. Multiregional states regional populations of Homo sapiens evolved from separate, regional populations of Homo erecus. Eg Australian Homo sapiens evolved from Australian Homo erectus and European (1/2)

Not quite, the mixed theory is gaining more ground and it's closer to multi-regional than out of africa. Neanderthal/Sapein interbreeding shows us this (DNA) and the discovery of deniovisian DNA in Asians also gives more evidence for it
