Yes, I agree Blender is excellent. Especially considering it is completely free. Really, you used no ray tracing?

I use 3D max/maya and something as simple as a daylight system with Mental Ray as your render and final gather makes any low poly model look nice

If you render using mental ray or VRay, you can render out a z-depth pass at the same time as your normal image and do the depth of field in After Effects. This allows you to do rack-focus shots simply by messing around with a few keyframes in After Effects.

JAJAJA!!! No, organically grown pigs.! No ray tracing. All spotlights, Rendered in layers and After Effects post work :-) and answering someone else: Of course Influence by Pixar but made before Ratatouille :-) Blender RULES!!!
